Memorial Day Circuit Tour
Summertime – for some, it is a time filled with lazy days spent lounging poolside while reading a book. But where will these lucky individuals buy just the right book to fuel their? With some hard work and presentation on your part, they may find that book at one of your Circuit Tour locations.
Through the ‘Memorial Day Circuit Tour 2009’ authors will be racing to explore new and untapped retail and commercial outlets for their titles. In a competition that will reward both success and determination, authors will be striving to make pitches for their book to as many venues as possible. Prizes will be awarded to the top three Tour Champions in two categories. To help fuel the competition, all Contender-level authors will be recognized as well.
Tour Champions – Pitches Made 1st Place - $75 credit applied to books on the author’s next order 2nd Place - $50 credit applied to books on the author’s next order 3rd Place - $25 credit applied to books on the author’s next order Contenders - $10 credit applied to author’s next book order (min. 10 copies) Tour Champions – Book Sales through Pitches 1st Place - $75 credit applied to books on the author’s next order 2nd Place - $50 credit applied to books on the author’s next order 3rd Place - $25 credit applied to books on the author’s next order
To maximize your pitches, seek out alternate commercial and business venues in addition to bookstore. Identify businesses, groups and local retail locations with a tie to your book’s subject and you will likely have a better response than from a chain bookstore, or national retailer. Remember – those smaller business are trying to weather an economic storm too…find ones that can boost their profits by selling your book and your Circuit will have your sales driving top speed!
To register your pitches, send an email to ChannelManager@AEGPublishingGroup.com with the pitch date, business/organization name, contact person, and their phone or email contact information. The Circuit Tour will be updated in three stages: May 1-15, 16-30 and June 1-15.
All Circuit Tour pitch registrations must be received by June 16 to qualify. Stage Winners and authors who register at least 5 pitches are designated as ‘Contender’ status.
As with any offer, there are some restrictions and limitations Circuit Tour runs May 1-June 15, 2009. Pitch registrations must be received by June 16. Pitch registrations must include all specified contact information to qualify Champion rewards are applied as a credit against book costs on a single order only – credit may not be applied to shipping costs or subsequent orders. Champions will be announced no later than June 19, and Champion rewards may be claimed immediately. Champion rewards must be claimed prior to Dec. 31, 2009. E-books are not eligible for the promotion Champion/Contender Awards will not apply to any books where authors have a rate discounted beyond standard contract terms. Contender rewards are applied to the author’s next book order (minimum 10 copies).
Watch for the other summer promotion – the Memorial Day Marathon Discount. Having a plentiful supply of books on hand is great preparation to take a Victory Lap on the Circuit Tour!
