What’s Next? A Search for Hope
Author Bonnie Priest, PhD Grabs Attention of Kathie Lee Gifford at BEA NY 2009

By Miranda Spigener, Director of PR/ Special Projects Publicist

Strategic Group authors had many pleasant surprises in store for them at Book Expo America 2009. One of them is a client we represent, Dr. Bonnie Priest. We extended her the invitation to participate with us at BEA and be part of the press exposure of the AEG PR Media Room that consisted of panels, Q&A, and photo opportunities for the press. One photo-op was this one here with fellow author and celebrity host/actress Kathie Lee Gifford.

Dr. Priest's latest book is a touching memoir entitled What's Next? A Search for Hope. This book sends out an imperative message about the prevention and treatment of Malignant Melanoma and the enduring love story of Bonnie and George while they searched for a cure and the treatment for this disease.

It didn't just stop at BEA; Dr. Priest has been on the publicity move with this book; several sold out presentations / signings, including a contract with the Chapters Indigo Bookstore, Regent Mall as well as other New Brunswick independent stores showing an interest in carrying the book. Recently she has been asked to be the #2 Presenter at The National Conference for The Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association in Winnipeg.

Dr. Priest's first book Nancy and the Nutrition Tree (2008) was a children's story teaching basics in nutrition and making healthy heart choices that will empower children and help them to understand the importance of keeping their bodies in balance and in good physical shape. This book was presented at major international heart conferences both in Victoria, British Columbia and Barcelona, Spain.
